As trump got sworn into office, we released “Love Will Triumph,” the second single and music video off of our forthcoming album INTRINSIC, as a timely reminder that love is the strongest force in the universe. DOWNLOAD THE TRACK HERE!
In conjunction we are launching a new online platform titled Solution Spotlight to shed light on resilient, innovative, solution-oriented actions underway to confront the rampant inequality and intensifying violence of our times.
We were also honored to perform “Love Will Triumph” with a live band for the Women’s March on Washington alongside Janell Monae, Maxwell, Gloria Steinem, Alicia Keys, Jidenna, Michael Moore, Angela Davis, Madonna, Van Jones and many more! We hope that these offerings are a balm to your heart, and fire in your belly to embody and create the change our hearts are thirsty for. Thanks for spreading the love!
The music video was produced in collaboration with so many beautiful people, from the incredible film team Three Flames Productions, to the musicians to the cast– which includes our blood and soul family, and our long-time collaborators Leah Song and Chloe Smith of the soulful world/folk band Rising Appalachia.
The video also showcases S.T.I.T.C.H.E.D.– the massive multi-colored tapestry comprised of over 10,000 handwritten stories that we have collected from people across the nation over the last decade.
“Love Will Triumph” reminds us that if each of us dedicates that force to embody the transformation we believe in, we can change the story we are walking into. The lyrics proclaim the desired future that we are devoted to create: one of dignity, justice, and reciprocity. And we are using the song to point people toward tangible ways they can be part of the solution.
Solution Spotlight is a resource-sharing website that we’ve been developing for the last two years with the support of our dear comrade Kim Banton, that shines light on examples of profound resilience, intelligence, powerhouse organizing, fearless action, silence-breaking, and art-making that is alive, in flight, blooming up, and bounding across the globe. In these times, deep in the heart of struggle, we need spaces like this that offer salve, reflect the beauty and power that exists, and that help us to craft and envision our futures. The more people see reflections of what is possible, the more empowered we’ll be to take both the tiny and giant actions necessary to shape the kind of future we want to live in.
