WE SURVIVED – New music video & single release!

Bright Blessings Beautiful Soul,

As we face the next 4 years governed by a president propped up on a pedestal of white supremacy, capitalism, misogyny and violence; as the Dakota Access Pipeline borrows through sacred land protected by militarized police who brutalize and detain those who protect the water; as the death tolls climb of Black women, men, and transgendered human beings assassinated with impunity by law enforcement; as climate chaos spins the world out of balance, spawning hurricanes, floods, droughts upon the most vulnerable inhabitants of our planet….

it’s helpful to remember that we hail from a lineage of survivors who have dreamed us into this moment, and who are at our backs in this time that requires of us tremendous courage, conviction, and interconnection.
WE OFFER YOU OUR FIRST SINGLE OFF OUR FORTHCOMING ALBUM
I N T R I N S I C
BECAUSE RIGHT NOW, MORE THAN EVER, WE NEED HEART MEDICINE.

WE SURVIVED

is 1 of 4 music videos that will be released leading up to the album launch in March!

We Survived is an anthem about the unstoppable power of our people, a reminder of the unfathomable obstacles our ancestors have overcome for us to be alive right now. The song is a testament to our collective resiliency, and a battle cry to the descendants of freedom-fighters to step into our full power to challenge the injustices of our day.

soulful compositions bridging electronic music and live instrumentation, and uniting hip-hop, rock, blues, folk, and Afro-Latin beats.

INTRINSIC explores the inescapable network of mutuality that binds our existence through the ricochet of oppression and the reciprocity of liberation, reminding us that

WE ARE ALSO HEADING TO STANDING ROCK TODAY

It wasn’t intentional, rather by divine design that these 2 momentous occurrences are happening at the same time: releasing our first single off INTRINSIC and joining the Water Defenders on the ground, who are using prayer and direct action to resist the Dakota Access Pipeline. We are working with the International Indigenous Youth Council and Earth Guardians to bring healing circles and supportive trainings with the incredible young leadership at Standing Rock. We will also perform for the SEVENTH GENERATION MEDICINE CONCERT at the Oceti Sakowin camp tomorrow at 1 pm. Join us in prayer!

Sending love to all you are,
