02.19.07 | Nathan Haugen I would just like to leave you some feedback on your appearance at Concordia in Moorhead, MN. I really hope you read this...
You two are amazing. I bought Ammunition (the CD of course. I'm nonviolent. ha...) Poetry is such a diverse art, and I wouldl like to congratulate the both of you on grazing perfection. The inspiration and depth of the poetry you write is unbelievable. I really don't have any questions, but I need to witness another session sometime very soon.
When you come at the end of March, I would love to talk to you a little. I missed the morning workshop this last weekend, but caught the spoken word performances during the show. I can't even express how much I loved your performance.
You have such an ideal job, and I am sure you know that. I'm sure you don't take it for granted, neither of you seem like that kind of person. Witnessing everything at the Hip Hop Summit inspires me to drive toward a similar ideal career. It's sad that society has told us to accept what we can get and doesn't push us to drive for something bigger.
Once again, I appreciate everything you shared and can't wait for you to come back in March. Thanks for everything...
Peace and Love,
Nate Haugen

11.27.06 | Martha Cartagena You sistahs are magical, intoxicating. Your words lead me to transcend...I am Mulata half breed, big haired woman loving Latina dyke de Puerto Rico, I really and love and appreciate your Espanol in your Spoken Words. It nicely compliments an already exceptionally fabuous C.D. Though I missed your performances in Chicago (I yet did not know of you), I look forward to doing so when we have the honor of having you in Chicago again.
If you're ever in town, even if just for the sake of it, feel free to contact me. I have a humble but very loving home. I have gatherings where the sistahs come and hang out in a safe space every now and and we play the drumss, and an annual Women only kiss-ass drumming house party mid to late April (will send you info as details progrss).
Continue your journey, together we can move mountians.. Also, just know that a Chicagorican is cheering ya'll del corazon. Que viva la musica! Que viva la poesia, que vivan las palabras!

11.20.06 | Michelle Pizzuli So I recently had the joy of experiencing climbing poetree in cleveland and was just amazed at the performance: two wise and beautiful souls spouting the truth in such a way that makes one cry and laugh and rage and hope all in a matter of hours. I guess what I am saying is that I'm extremely impressed by what you two create, something so raw, and so inspiring. Your message of justice (in all forms) is truly important and I hope it will be heard by all. Since the performance, I've done my best to share your message & creativity with all those I know and love.
Thank you for everything you do. Keep the movement alive.
11.16.06 | Ophelia-Dawn Shona Power It is always amazing to me when womyn come together and rise above. I was fortunate enough to introduce myself during your trip to GBC, Toronto. I cried as you preached your truth. How amazing you both are, what strong and beautiful womyn!
Thank you for your voices, thank you for your continued efforts to open the minds of everyone you meet. You have much to say and I hope that you never stop saying it!
In solidarity.
Namaste,

11.10.06 | Chris I was fortunate enough to see the two of you present at George Brown College in TOronto. Your performance moved me, touched me and inspired me to create change, to start action that I have been contemplating for years. I live 45 minutes north of Toronto and there is no forum/space for any political action or analysis in Barrie, I would like to start by creating a zine (a paper zine, as it is accessible to all).
I work for The Elizabeth Fry Society of Simcoe County, my position is residential facilitator. Due the fact that we are the only halway house north of Toronto, I work on a daily basis with Women exiting the Federal Prison System. I have come to understand the parallels between systemic opressions, such as poverty, racism, abuse and women becoming in conflict with the law.
Is there any information that you could share with me on programs that you have for those in the corrections sytem and some of your actions that will create change and start the prison abolition.
Thanks.
You have inspired me to continue on with my own endevours.
Chris

07.19.06 | I'Loner L. Weaver I don't know if this is the correct venue to use, but I just had to write to you both. I had the pleasure of hearing you at Sound Session '06 at the Black Rep in Providence and may I say that i have never been so moved in all of my life. I love poetry and am totally in awe of the both of you. The message you are sending is positive, fulfilling, heart-wrenching and motivational. I was speechless, especially after the poem Naima did about her mom. I am a single mother of 2 of the most beautiful girls god has ever created. I had them both very young and devoted my life to them. I have had my hard times but I always look to them for my strength and motivation. My oldest is entering her junior year in college and my youngest is in her sophmore year. Not bad for a 38 year old mom!!!! YOur poem Naima, I can not express the strings it pulled in my heart. Alixa your words about life in general, how hip hop helped you through, i could truly relate. I pray that you both are blessed to continue on your path and I know you will not let anything stand in your way. I am a major new fan and I wish you all the success, happiness and fulfillment your hearts can hold. Thank you for having such an impact on my life and how I see myself!! Press on, Walk Tall and Stay Strong!!!!
Always,
I'Loner :)

I've been listening to your fantastic album!! Thanks for sending it to me!! Today, I had a lot of time in the car, it being Thursday (my thrilling Thursday!!), so I got to really listen. I think the 9th song is probably the most powerful love song I've ever heard!! Very steamy too!
Lots of the songs are amazing, & I'll need to listen more to catch more of the words, which are truly brilliant.
Neshima asked me today how you get curly hair. I hope I explained it well, but would love to hear how you would tell it!!! We also had a great conversation about boogers. Fodder for more little books, & maybe some songs!! Much love to you blessed ladies. Lizzie

I always rock the hoodie you gave me though humbly ask if i can get one of your t-shirt designs if and when you come through. Peace and much love.

The love that drives and fuels you to do these works is the same love I pray with, the same one I kneel to at my altar, the same stuff that bids me to continue. thank you again and again for doing love's work, for having the courage to be yourselves and to fight for all of us.
